Halloween Party
Fun for kids of all ages, the MCPOM Halloween Party includes a costume parade, crafts, games, fun foods and even a piñata. One of our most popular events of the year!
Holiday Party
Traditionally this event has been a cookie exchange at a private member home. Children and adults are invited to bring their favorite cookies, sample those baked by other members, play and take some cookies for the road.
Winter/Spring Social
The Winter/Spring Social is generally held in February or March and is an indoor event to help break up the monotony of cold winter days. Typically it is held at an indoor gym and is designed to accommodate children of all ages from the very youngest to our preschool and elementary school children.
Semi-Annual Consignment Sale
The consignment sale is held in the spring and fall. It is a great opportunity for members to sell the old things they no longer need and get a great deal on the new things they now need. The Fall Sale is open to the public and will be held at Juluis West Middle School in Rockville on Saturday, September 12, 2009. The Spring Sale is being held at the same location on March 13, 2010. Summer Picnic
One of our largest events of the year, the picnic is typically held at Wheaton Regional Park where kids can enjoy the playgrounds, miniature train, carousel and lots of other fun activities. Members enjoy meeting new friends, delicious catered food, Carmen’s Ice, face painting and exploring the park.
Meet-and-Greets
Our general meetings are called “Meet-and-Greets” and are generally held on the last Wednesday of the month, September through May. The meeting locations vary with different meeting topics. Please check the calendar tab for location information or contact mcpom@mcpom.org for meeting details. Prospective members are welcome to attend our Meet-and-Greets prior to joining MCPOM. Upcoming topics include Navigating Nanny Contracts, Maintaining Healthy Relationships, Preschool Readiness, Emergency Preparedness and Potty Training. Past topics have included Estate Planning, Speech and Language Development, Party Planning, School Placement, a Multiples Panel, Car Seat Safety, Traveling With Multiples, Ice Cream Socials, Craft Fair, and more.
