Semi-Annual Sale Children's Equipment Exchange

March 8, 2008
9:00 am – 12:30 pm
Julius West Middle School
651 Great Falls Road, Rockville
(one block east of 270 at Falls Road)

Our clothing and equipment sale is the MCPOM’s biggest fundraiser and one of the biggest draws for members. We know how expensive it is to buy new for multiples or singletons——especially when they outgrow things long before they are worn out! The sale provides our members with a great opportunity to pick up gently-used clothing, toys, equipment, and furniture. It also provides an avenue for selling your children’s outgrown items, clearing out your storage spaces, and earning some cash!

Our sale works more like a store than a yard sale. We have strict guidelines to ensure that all items sold are in good condition. Only Members can sell items. Each item is tagged, sorted, and placed with like items. All prices are fixed; there is no dickering. MCPOM provides all the advertising, rents the facility, and organizes staffing and in return receives 20–30% of each member’s sales. To further defray the cost of facility rental and enhance club functions, we charge $2 admission per adult for non-club members.

Our sales are held in the spring and fall—usually March and October—depending on facility availability. Last fall we had over 100 families of twins and triplets selling gently used items.
